Chavakkad beach is a pristine beauty served with a dash of history and excellent excursion opportunities. Counted amongst Kerala’s most popular beaches, Chavakkad is a mesmerizing abode of coconut lagoons, virgin blue waters and a clean beach. Located on the coast of Arabian Sea in West Coast at a distance of 5 km from Guruvayoor, Chavakkad Beach is frequented by a large number of Guryvayoor shrine visitors, weekend travelers and picnic goers. Easy to access, the beach is just 2 km north to the Puthenkadappuram Beach and just half an hour drive away from Thrissur town.

Chavakkad Beach is famous for the spectacle called ‘Azhimokam’ in Malayalam which means a place where a River confluences with the Sea. The place is also known as the land of Haider Ali’s lieutenant Haidross Kuttee. An example of scenic natural beauty, the beaches at Chavakkad are simply wonderful and the good thing about them is that more often than not, they are not very crowded. An ideal place to just laze around, soak-in the sun and enjoy the laidback settings away from fast paced city life.
