Athripilly & Vazhachal Waterfalls

Athripily and Vazhachal are two panoramic waterfalls located within 5 km from each other, yet equally mesmerizing and a delight to every visitor’s senses. Located on the edge of Sholayar forest, these waterfalls are now a popular picnic spot. Located at a distance of 35 km from Thrissur, Athirappally falls drops from a height of 80 ft at the entrance of Sholayar forest ranges to join the Chalakkudy River. Combining greenery with the spectacular sight, Athripilly has seen several movies being shot around the area. The whole area infuses new life into visitor’s soul.

Located further 5 km away is the Vazhachal falls which is the more popular tourist attraction of the two. Located adjacent to dense green forestland, Vazhachal is part of the Chalakkudy River. Lofty trees, green forest, small garden and a refreshment stall have all combined to increase Vazhachal popularity which is now frequented by a varied spectrum of visitors including nature lovers and tourists.

The Chapra falls and the Akkayam falls are two other pleasant waterfalls located nearby, making the region a nature lover’s paradise.
