Also spelt as Wagamon, this panoramic hill station is located at a distance of 64 km from kottayam and 34 km from Pala. At 1100 mts above sea level, Wagamon provides a dual attraction to the visitors- as a picturesque hill station and as an exciting trekking destination. Rolling Meadows, tea gardens and valleys surround the area and the region comprises of Kurisimala, Murugan and Thangal hills. Nearby attractions include Thangal Para, Kurisumala Asram and the live stock project.
To Wagamon goes the proud distinction of being the most literate region of India. Numerous picturesque lakes exist in and around Wagamon and plans are underway to convert this enchanting paradise as an eco-tourism hotspot. Green meadows are one such eco-friendly project specializing in Ayurvedic treatments and cultivation of medicinal plants etc. Milk and honey are produced in large quantities here whose trading serves as source of livelihood for the resident monks of the area.
Wagamon is located at the Idukki-Kottayam border and is an ideal destination for rejuvenation, being one with the nature and enjoying nature at its best.
