Payyambalam Beach is the largest and perhaps the most beautiful beach in Kerala. Located in Kannur district facing blue waters of Arabian Sea, Payambalam beach’s clean, unspoiled stretch of sand measure 2 hectares, engulfing several attractions within its charming, inviting territory.
The beach is ideal for those wishing to spend some leisure time away from the hustle-bustle of metropolis, just relaxing by the sea side, sun tanning or playing beach sports. The beach offers panoramic views of Sunrise and Sunset and due to its exquisite beauty, Payyambalam Beach has been a popular location for several commercials and films.
Apart from its clean beach and secluded location, Payyambalam is also known for its well laid out garden. A popular picnic spot, the beautifully manicured garden has a separate area especially for kids. Additionally, drawing curiosity of the visitors is a massive sculpture of mother and child built by a noted sculpture. The sandy beach is also a historically significant site with the mortal remains of Kerala’s distinguished personalities namely A.K. Gopalan, Swadeshabimani Ramakrishna Pillai, K.G. Marar and Pamban Madavan.
